Upload of documents containing live links
I have been told that live links in documents have gone dead after being uploaded. Is that accurate for Dropbox uploads? Is there a way to upload documents containing links and keep them live?

Hi TMC1956, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Could you clarify what you mean by live links?
Are these Dropbox shared links to other files?
Any other info or screenshots would be helpful!

Yes, they are links that when clicked open other files. Here is the screenshot:

Do those links point to other files on a Dropbox account, another website entirely, or something else?

I have the same problem - I work for a charity and create training materials for staff and volunteers. Links in the document to external websites, youtube videos etc do not work - are not clickable. Is there some way to rectify this?

Youve not said where they are not clickable - as that isnt a Dropbox issue.
Dropbox just make the links - it doesnt add it or make it usable in Word or Outlook etc.

Before I upload the doc to dropbox, I can follow or click on external links to websites/videos in the document. When it is in dropbox, I can share the document but those external links no longer work

Hey aoife_foroige, let's see what we can find together!
Does this happen with all of your shared links, or specific ones?
Would you be able to send me a couple of screenshots, in order for me to have a visual too?
Keep me posted!
