Can I back up online-only files to an external drive?

Hi.  I might be overly paranoid, but I'm trying to backup my Dropbox files to an external hard drive. It's easy to do so with the files that are available offline, but I'm not sure how to do it with the cloud-only files because:

 

1. I don't have enough storage space on my computer to make all of the cloud-only files available offline. 

2. There are way too many to do it in small batches.

 

Any suggestions?  Thanks!

    There isnt a way to do this without downloading them locally I'm afraid.
