Earned quota from referrals disappeared

I've been using 12GB of quota that I got from referral for the past 10 or so years. About two months ago when I deleted dropbox from my old computer,  however, my quota went down to the basic 2GB. I don't know why it happened. Has the terms and conditions change recently?

Thanks.

  • I see. I also found the message "Using 9.9GB of 9.25 GB". It's interesting because I remember I'd been seeing "12GB of quota" before I removed the app on my old computer. I didn't have any promo code for the last few years.
Before I removed the dropbox app on the old computer, I removed some of the shared files to empty the space because I was close to the max quota which I believe was 12GB back then. That's how I remembered my previous quota of 12GB. I don't know what triggered this, but I will try to remove some more files to go below the current quota of 9.25GB. Thanks for the help!

Hi there, jungwook, let's jump right into this!

Keep in mind that Dropbox doesn't remove space earned through referrals.

Did you simply delete the app, or the account too?

It's worth noting that other types of bonus space do expire, depending on the promotion at the time. You can see a list of all the space you've earned along with that which has expired on your plan page

If you could also send me a screenshot of that page if you can.

Let me know of any updates!

    Hi Megan,

Thanks for contacting me. Here's the screen capture of the "plan page" that you hyperlinked.

Actually the two rectangles are rotating, joining and splitting forever..

Hey jungwook, odd, but thanks for checking!

Do you have a different browser, that you can try using in order to check the plan page there?

You can always try to clear the cache on your current one, and then try again.

    Thank you so much jungwook

It seems your quota is 9.25GB and not the Basic 2GB.

If you scroll to the bottom of this page, are you able to locate and calculate your referral space?

Is it possible that you had a different kind of extra space, like a promo code that might have expired?

I earned 4.5 GB of space from referrals and it has now disappeared. It seems others have had this problem and in replies from Dropbox they say that is not supposed to happen, but there seems to be no way to get anyone's attention to this at Dropbox other than post a question to this community
