My friend cannot upload into my business 2TB account? It used to work?

Hello,

I have Dropbox Business 2TB, but my colleague only has his normal account.

Wasn't it earlier that he could send me e.g. 500GB in this folder because it was my (!) memory?

His upload keeps stopping because his private Dropbox is full? Is there anything that can be set in Dropbox?

That would be stupid.
How else can he send 500GB to me, possibly for free?

thanks, maz

No, Dropbox has never worked like that. If you share a folder with someone, they're still limited to the amount of space in their own account. They don't upload directly to your account. They upload into a shared folder located in their own account, and that folder syncs with yours.

He would need to upgrade his account.

You can send him a File Request, but he wouldn't be able to upload if it's a single 500GB file. On a Basic, Plus or Family account you can receive files up to 2GB in size. You can receive files up to 50GB in size if you're on a Professional or Business account. 500GB total is fine, as long as the individual uploads are below these limits.
