Why are some files in the admin account on my Windows computer as well as the non-admin account?
Running windows 10. In my non-admin account, (let's call it "Anthony"), I have 29GB of files in the dropbox folder. In the Admin account, I don't use the dropbox location, but under the dropbox folder, there is 16.6GB of files, and all these files are in the Anthony account.
Why would there be some copies in two places?
Can I delete the Admin ones?
I have Windows on a C: partition with 30GB free out of 200GB. The "Anthony" account user data is on a D: partition of 1.2TB with 200GB free. I'm trying to reduce the size of the Admin account which is wholly on C:. I also have several strange issues with Windows so I am looking to upgrade to Windows 11 but want to ensure not to lose any dropbox files. Because of the issues, I may need to perform a fresh install and would need to backup/restore the user profiles (%APPDATA%) somehow. In this case it would be worthwhile to reduce the size of the user profiles (which are typically on C:)
I need to know that if the Admin account was recreated, as a part of a new install, that dropbox would work and I would not lose any files.
I've tried all suggested methods for fixing the windows issues I have but to no avail. Numerous scans/fixnow. Repair Windows. I've recently reinstalled Windows 10, preserving apps and files. Nothing has worked. That's why I think I will end up with a fresh install.
Any ideas or information would be appreciated.

HI HappySheep, thanks for the information. In order to look into this matter in more detail, I'd recommend contacting the support team directly for them to investigate further.

The 2 files are less than 250Kb altogether so I'm not sure it is a size limit.
It's not letting me post the links, it gives the error:Content Not Published

It's been more than a week, links and small files cannot be uploaded and I've had no meaningful response to my issue. This is very frustrating.

Thanks for giving it a go! It sounds like the file you’re trying to upload may be a bit too large for the forum.
You can place it in a shared link then, and post it here instead. We may remove it after that to prevent excess traffic on your Dropbox account, but we’ll be able to see what you’ve posted first.

I've tried, it says
Media Upload Failed
Try uploading from a different source.
or

The file dropbox-admin.JPG is not allowed.

Hey HappySheep! Can you try pasting your screenshot directly in your message box here on the forum?
Let me know if that works for you.

Seems that dropbox links are not allowed so please let me know how to post images.

Thanks for the update and the additional info, HappySheep!
I'm afraid a screen sharing session isn't a possibility through the Community, but would it be possible to send us some screenshots of the issue?
Perhaps a couple of screenshots of both Dropbox folders, to see how they appear for you?
Feel free to edit out any personal info from the screenshots, of course.

Thanks for the response Hannah.
Yes, I meant Admin and non-Admin as in relation to Windows accounts. I'm not 100% on the dropbox installation, but I'm pretty sure I installed it for all users. We use the camera uploads feature from 2 phones.
From the Anthony account, if I go Dropbox, the top 3 folders are .dropbox.cache ; Anthony ; Apps. From the Admin account, I have the same view, so I deleted a .png file and it was deleted also from the Anthony account in the same location. When deleting it from Admin, a warning came up, "This file will be deleted from your Dropbox account.
Because it is online only, it won't be moved to your Recycle Bin, but recently deleted files can be restored on dropbox.com."When I look from the Anthony account at .png files in the same location, and right-click, I have the option to make it ;online only'. If I delete a file from the Anthony account I do not get the 'online only' warning.
Also from the Admin account, when I opened another file, I got the pop-up warning: "Avoid file conflicts. The dropbox badge appears during Microsoft file conflicts. When visible, you can view version history, share links & collaborate efficiently."
Hopefully this helps you work out what's going on. I'm happy to have an interactive screen share if that would make it quicker and easier.

Hey HappySheep, thanks for reaching out to our Community.
By admin and non-admin accounts, I'm assuming you're referring to user profiles on the computer and not Dropbox (team) admin and non-admin accounts, correct?
Is the Dropbox app installed on both partitions? And do you have two different Dropbox folders?
If, as a test, you delete a file from one Dropbox folder, does it get deleted from the other one as well?
Let me know and we'll go from there.
