216.4.4420 on Windows 11: endless indexing, massive CPU use.

Since my Dropbox updated itself to this version, it's been continuously using a high fraction of my CPU and memory, rendering the machine worryingly hot, endlessly saying it's indexing a varying number of files but not seeming to get anywhere. I haven't made any significant changes on the filesystem. Any ideas? Will it eventually sort itself out or do I need to do something?

  • Turns out the answer is "it will eventually sort itself out" :-)

Thanks for posting on our forum, ps4! Let’s have a look.

First off, have you taken a look at this Help Center article regarding high CPU usage? If not, please check it and let me know if any of the info there seems to help.

If you upload a small text or image file via the desktop app instead, does it sync normally to the Dropbox website?

Please also let me know the app's current syncing status.

Keep me posted for any updates!
