I have files in a folder Library>Audio>Presets that are constantly updated but there is no way to add this folder to the desktop app. The workaround is to copy the folder to another folder to have it...

Hi Theresa,
Thanks for following up and asking!
My primary source of income is in data science and data engineering, but I donât use Dropbox for thatâIT handles backups in that area.
Iâve been making and performing music for over 15 years. Originally, I used Dropbox to store audio bounces and works in progress, mostly for listening on different speaker setups and sharing with collaborators.
I follow the 3-2-1 backup rule, so I upgraded my Dropbox plan to back up files from multiple music computers in a centralized place. Itâs more of a âliving backupâ approach alongside the more periodic backups I do with Time Machine or SuperDuper clones.
This way, I can reinstall a system using Time Machine or a clone, and then layer in newer versions of files from Dropbox. Hope that makes sense!
Would love to hear any hints and tips you have to get more out of the setup.

Thanks so much for getting back to me and I really appreciate you sharing how youâre using Dropbox!
It sounds like youâve built a really thoughtful setup. I totally get how useful it is to have Dropbox as a âliving backupâ - especially if youâre working on different projects across various devices đ»đ§.
We have a Musicians group here on the community where we share different articles about how get the best use out of Dropbox for your music. I wrote a piece about music collaboration that might interest you đŒâš.
Also if youâre interested, if youâve got older, large projects youâre not actively working on, you might like to sign up to test our new âIgnore filesâ feature. Itâs designed to help you archive big files in Dropbox without syncing them to your device - freeing up space while keeping everything backed up in the cloud.
