hi Hannah , I restarted and it did not bring back the icon. When attempting to start Dropbox from the blue icon in my applications folder I get the following:

Hey ken_804, hope it’s OK if I jump in. Can we log a ticket for you and investigate this further, since the issue still persists?

Hi Nancy, i don't believe it's possible for me to execute an Advanced Reinstall in my case since the app does not appear in my 'task bar', which clicking on it is one of the first steps. please advise, thanks

Hey joshuaelectric. Since the Dropbox icon isn’t showing in your case, which means that the Dropbox app isn’t running on your computer, you can move on to the next steps directly.

Just a wild suggestion, but do you have any title bar managers that is perhaps hiding the icon?

Nancy yes, please do. I did another advanced reinstall and the black icon appeared for a few hours. now it is gone again.
