CertFindCertificateInStore failed with: (-2146885628) error in Windows Event Viewer
As multiple other users have already reported over the last couple years, I am seeing many of these error events in my Windows 10 Event Viewer, all coming from the DbxSvc (Dropbox service) event source.
Can you all please fix your desktop client software to stop spamming my event logs with these errors? This issue has dragged on far, far too long already. Either stop emitting these errors, or fix the underlying problem.
Thank you.
Hi everyone, thanks for your patience.
This issue should be resolved as of the latest version of the Dropbox desktop application, version 215.X.XXXX.
If you're still experiencing this behavior, please let us know!

Brand new Win 11 install, Dropbox causes this issue which causes hard fault / BSOD. Unable to use Dropbox app at all. Replicated on two clean installs.
Switching my business accounts to OneDrive immediately due to this issue.

I can confirm that the problem with random crashes/reboots are due to Dropbox (DbxSvc).
I've never had this problem before and a couple of weeks ago my computer started to behave strangely. I tried to find out the culprit and always at the times when the crashes/reboots occurred then DbxSvc had an error entry in the Event Viewer.
I found this thread and decided to disable DbxSvc and shut down Dropbox. After I did that then no more crashes/reboots for 4 days now. With DbxSvc on the computer crashed/rebooted 4-5 times per day.
So now I'm leaving Dropbox and moving elsewhere (MEGA, OneDrive). Thanks for the time Dropbox but your inability to acknowledge and fix this problem is inexcusable.

Since I uninstalled Dropbox my computer has been running 24/7 for 2 weeks now without ANY problems... There were other issues as well that I did not link to Dropbox (graphic issues and other things) but they have also disappeared... Something is very wrong with DbxSvc...

Experiencing this same issue - Laptop has had multiple BSOD that has required a hard reboot because of "CertFindCertificateInStore failed with: (-2146885628) Cannot find object or property." Following this thread so I know when I can download the desktop client again - not worth the trouble until this gets fixed.

Same errors here, same crap. Over 40 years writing software and my 14yo could out-do you. So after having been a customer for, what, nearly 20 years or so?? I'm gone.
