Dark mode for the simplified version of the Dropbox desktop app.
It has recently come to my attention that Dropbox has some problem with Windows 7.
For anyone who uses it, you're aware that it still functions better than most modern operating systems but for some reason Dropbox seems to believe that Windows 7 should stop being supported because it's "old". Clearly Dropbox does really understand that software doesn't "decay" like a machine does, either that or they're being pressured by Microsoft's "depreciation policy".
Either way, this now creates a problem for Windows 7 users and this place is for creating solutions. Now the most obvious solutions is to simply continue supporting Windows 7 like so many other services do. But if that's too "difficult" then working to add the features and functions of the full version to the simplified version of the Dropbox desktop app is the next obvious option.

Actually, I do need something else. If you could have your friends stop sabotaging my posts and comments, that would be appreciated. Thank you kindly ^_^

Hey Sin_Shadow_Fox!
It seems that your posts are getting removed since they're duplicates of your original post, which is the one here.
I've already forwarded your feedback and comments in regards to our desktop app to the appropriate team. We can't make any promises that this will be implemented, but we'll definitely ensure that your voice is heard.
Thanks a bunch!

Oh, well. If that's the issue. Can you delete this post then? I already reported it as incorrectly posted a few days ago. So once this post is deleted, then I'll be able to post my idea?

Hey there! Hope you don’t mind, if I jump in.
Please keep in mind that, in general, requests that are related to system requirements and (un)supported OS don’t qualify as ideas.
The only thing that we can do, in this case, is to pass your comments and feedback along to our team (which, from what I can see, Megan has done already).

Hey Nancy. Not at all, the more people talking about this the better.
I appreciate Megan getting my message through to the Dropbox team but if you'll notice the wording of my post, it's not directed at them. My post was directed to the Dropbox community and i posted in ideas for a very specific reason, the voting system.
My goal was to get this issue in front of as many people as possible where they could lend their votes (voices) to show that Windows 7 is/should not be an unsupported system in the first place, something that wasn't even the case until very recently. - Jay3 months ago

Hi Sin_Shadow_Fox, thanks for the feedback.
We'll leave the thread open in order for other users to comment in with their input regarding your suggestion.

Well . . . that's not really conducive to my goal. According to Megan i can't post my idea in the more active part of these forums, the ideas area, until this thread is deleted. So the sooner this thread can be deleted, the better. I'd like to get my post up in the ideas section as soon as possible, thank you ^_^

Hi Sin_Shadow_Fox,
I just wanted to address this issue again as I have confirmed with multiple teams internally on this issue on your behalf.
As of October 2025, Dropbox will no longer support the full desktop experience on the following operating systems:
- Windows 7, 8, 8.1
- macOS 10.13, 10.14, 10.15
Users running on the above operating systems will be transitioned to a simplified version of the Dropbox desktop app. This update is part of our ongoing efforts to optimize performance and security at Dropbox.
Unfortunately there are no plans to introduce Dark Mode for the simplified version of Dropbox.
I understand this is not the news you want to hear but these are simply the facts. I know you've been posting a lot about this issue over the last week and I appreciate your passion. That's why I investigated internally and confirmed that this will definitely not be implemented.
