Dropbox app for Android keeps crashing
Every time I open the Dropbox app for Android and try to edit a text file (no, the file is not too big), the app freezes and crashes. My tablet acknowledged the issue as a "bug" and told me to clear the cache, which I did, no change. Tried closing the app, force stopping, device maintenance, rebooting, no change. Can't work on my files.
I already can't use main Dropbox on my laptop due to the Windows update. Now I can't even use my app? I use this literally every day. Mere hours ago (around 5:30AM, it's now 1:30AM) it worked fine.
App version 434.2.2, Samsung Galaxy Tab S6, Android 12 (no, I can't update Android).
Same version of Dropbox SEEMS to be working on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 (Android 15) *knock wood* though I currently do most work on my S6.

Hey Rachel L.! I was wondering if you ended up following Jay’s previous suggestion to reinstall the Dropbox app.
If you did, did that seem to resolve the issue?

Thanks for the update. Once you've attempted uninstalling and reinstalling the Dropbox mobile app and tested to see if the issue persists, please let me know the results when editing a file from the Recents page in the app.

I haven't tried uninstalling yet but please see my other post, the bug seems like it might be related to the home screen.
EDIT, even more specifically, the "Recent" section of the home screen. I tried editing a file from the "Starred" part of the home screen and that worked. Trying to edit from "Recent" crashes.

Edit, on a whim I tried accessing the files after choosing "Show in folder." I could open and edit them there *knock wood* but trying to do so from the home screen is impossible, the app freezes and then either takes me back to the home screen, or closes completely. My tablet told me again it's a bug and to contact the developer or reinstall.
A bug with the home screen maybe?

Hi Rachel L., thanks for contacting us.
If you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could you try uninstalling the app, rebooting the device, and re-installing it to see if this helps?
Keep me updated with any progress!
