Dropbox for Mac says "Beta" but it's not a beta + bug
I have Dropbox v180.4.4912 installed on a Macbook Pro M1 with macOS Ventura 13.4.1 (c). The Dropbox dropdown says "Beta" in the upper left corner, but I have Early Releases turned off on my account. ...

3 years agoHi William M.26 & @wishskys, let's jump right into this!
Based on everything you mentioned, and if you're both using Mac OS, then the message refers to the beta experience for Dropbox for macOS on File Provider as described here.
I can confirm that you're using our latest stable version 180.4.4912. It's described as Beta, due to the experience nature of it.
I hope this clarifies!

Thanks! It might be good to have a more explicit way of letting users know that it's a particular implementation or feature that's in "beta," and not the entire app. It's a bit incongruous to have one set of capabilities around "Early releases" but no explicit recognition of this macOS-specific need. Now that you've mentioned it, I vaguely remember, but I wouldn't rely on typical users remembering such things. Just a suggestion.
