Dropbox installer fails to start - New Dell with Win 11 25H2

Application Affected
Dropbox online and offline installer (both 222 and 235 versions)
Device
Dell ECT1250
Operating System/Browser (if using the web)
Windows 11 25H2

Question or Issue

New computer attempting to add dropbox.  Migration from old PC (Win11) using PCMover did not bring Dropbox across.  Dropbox is still working on old PC. Install immediately crashes to "Dropbox installer failed to start" with no error messages.  Both online and offline installers give the same behavior.  Tried an earlier version of the offline installer (222) with no change. No 3d party antivirus installed.

  • Often when using transfer tools to move between PC's it creates some of the Dropbox files not all which causes uses.

Have a try of an Advanced Reinstall and see if that helps.
