Dropbox right click context menu options on macOS don't do anything when selected

The dropbox right click menu is there but it has no function at all. Example: Right click on "Copy dropbox link" is available. A click on it does not copy the link. The other buttons are without any function too. Facts:
Dropbox Plus account, private single user, 2 TB.
Macbook Pro (2022), M2, 24 GB RAM, 2 TB SSD.
macOS Sonoma (14.4.1)

I had the same issue on my former PC (iMac 27", Core i7, 4 GHz, 32 MB RAM, 2 TB Fusion Drive with the former macOS), but the issue startet after any update as far as I remember it right. Before it worked fine, I used it daily. The Macbook Pro was a completely new setup, it has NOT been installed from a backup of my old iMac. So actually I have to create my sharing links on the Dropbox website. This ist really not comfortable.

I hope anyone here can help me to solve this problem. Thx in advance!

Thanks for posting on the forum, giselbert74!

If I get this right, you noticed this issue right after installing the Dropbox app on your new Mac computer and the context menu options never worked properly there, correct?

What’s the app version and syncing status of your Dropbox app?

Also, can you clarify the Dropbox folder’s location as it shows under the Sync tab of your app preferences? I’d just like to confirm if you’re running the Dropbox app for macOS on File Provider.

Let me know once you have more info.

Thx for the very quick reply. WOW 🙂
Yes, you got it right. The issue on my new Mac came directly after installing Dropbox. It does not work at all from the beginning (installation of brand new MBP in 2022/12). The sync status is ok, all files synch in no time. The version is v199.4.6287 and the location of the folder is /Users/name/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox
Everything is fine but the right click menu buttons have no function. It just happens nothing by press one of them. The sharing with a link which is build manually over the website works also properly since years. Never had any problems.  Creepy is that i had the same issue on my former Mac as written above. If I remember it right this issue came after an update 3 or 4 years before now. I hope I have answered everything you need to know to help me. If you have any further questions let me know.

Thanks for all the updates! Appreciate it.

Can you try to quit and relaunch the Dropbox app as the next step?

Have you also restarted your device since the issue started?

I quit and relaunched the Dropbox app several times, 15-20 times I think. I restarted the MacBook Pro also 20+ times. I even deleted and re-installed the app on my MacBook Pro - and I also did all these steps on my former PC, the iMac I had until 2022, December. Nothing could solve the problem yet. The issue is still there. It seems crazy that the same issue is on the 100% new installed MBP. So I guess the problem is in a setting of my account which can not be made or corrected by me but by Dropbox Inc.
