Free 1 GB extra storage offer to install Dropbox Passwords

I got an offer of 1 GB extra storage if I installed Dropbox Passwords. I did so, but no extra storage. Was it a hoax?

    For the record the promised extra Gig was finally credited to my account.

I received this offer and I have installed the App but I have not received the 1TB from the offer.
