Dear sir/madam,
Yes, I am on a Basic account and I have more than three devices already linked. What can I do next?
Thank you very much for your consideration,

6 years agoThanks for confirming that for me, yildizaykut!
Currently, Basic accounts can link up to three devices. If you want to sign in to a new computer, mobile, or tablet, you'll have to unlink down to atleast two devices.
You can find more info about this here.
I hope this helps, but let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks for your answer but it is not working for me. I have unlinked down to 2 accounts which includes the Samsung Note3 android phone that I am trying to login with, but I still am told to contact Dropbox admin.
If I delete my phone then of course I will not have access.
Any solution please?

Hi there confoodnet, thanks for nudging us on this thread.
To make sure I have a better visual of what you're seeing, could you send me a screenshot (without any personal info) of what you're seeing?
Looking forward to hearing back from you!

Hi, I have the same issue with Tablet Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition.
It says that there is an unknown problem and I should contact the support.
I already reinstalled the app on my device. I also deleted the devices in my security tab. I am on a Basic subscription.
Any fix?

Hey Pimpf, thanks for posting your question here, and sorry to hear that you're having trouble with this.
Just to make sure that we cover as much initial troubleshooting as possible, could you clarify if you're on a Basic account by going to your Plan tab and also checking if you have more than three devices already linked on your Security tab?
Looking forward to hearing back from you!

OK. I checked again: I am on a BASIC subscription.
I only have one device linked which is my Android Tablet. Still I get the message "unknown error. please contact support"
If I delete the Android tablet from the list (to connect it again) I get the same error.
The Tablet will show up as linked device. But I can not log in via the app on my tablet.

Thanks for following up. I fixed it by deleting the account for the very phone that I was trying to link with, then reconnecting this phone using my only remaining account. All fine now
