I updated the desktop app to File Provider, but after logging back in, it's still not updated.
Every time when I try to update to file provider, it starts the update. The App restart and I see "Update in Progress" and then "Log out". After the logon everything is as it was before.
Tried it several times, with reboot in between.
MAC OS: 15.4.1
Dropbox App: 222.4.5042

Hey alephtaph, thanks for posting on our Community about this.
Before logging out of the desktop app, do you see any confirmation that the update is complete? Feel free to send me a screenshot of what you see exactly, too.
Let me know once you have more info.

I am having this problem too. It says I am eligible to update, starts the update, says it needs to restart, makes me select folders to sync (my dropbox is larger than my HD) and then reinstalls the regular version and reindexes the folder without moving it.

Hey alephtaph thanks for the link; I removed it per our Community Guidelines, since it contained personal info.
Can you and automandc both check the sync tab in preferences once again and let us know what the location of the Dropbox folder is now, after the update?

Got the same issue. It says "Dropbox scheduled to update with File Provider". If I click "Update now" it says "Update in Progress - Moving Files from Favorites to". After a short time it says "Signing out... - Dropbox needs to restart to sign out". After signing in again it prompts me again with the same update. It doesn't complete the update!
- I am on MacOS 15.6 (24G84), M2.
- My files are synced
- Location is /Users/[username]/Dropbox

Thanks for that! Since it looks like you’re running the beta app version of the desktop app (230.3.8686), can you try switching off early releases via your General tab here? Then, I'd like you to download the latest stable version instead.
Are you still unable to update your Dropbox app to File Provider after that?

I switched off early releases and installed version 229.4.5197. Unfortunately, still having the same issue with restarts/logouts before the update completes.
