I was asked to update my Dropbox app, but nothing happens when I try to do so.
Currently have Dropbox 221.4.5365. Windows 11 Pro 24H2, OS build 26100.4946.
Got a message saying my dropbox is out of date and if I don't update within 7 days it'll stop working.

I did something better than the advanced reinstall. I used Revo Uninstaller. Uninstalled Dropbox, removed all registry keys, removed all appdata. And as I had uninstalled and could not reinstall of course I couldn't show you what I saw when doing the update option as there is no update option without the program installed again in the first place.
Sorry I can't give detailed information on what I did because any time I tried to the forum would ghost delete my thread. Yes I disabled Windows Security, restarted, it changed nothing.
All I was able to do ultimately was install it to another machine, logging everything the installation did. Then copy all that over, including the registry keys. There was no other solution for my computer. It's functionally impossible to install or update Dropbox to my Windows 11 Pro PC as it just closes during "On your Marks" with no log to trace why it did that or anything. At this point I'll pretty much never be able to update again cause I'm not going through all that again.

Hey there, I've just experienced the exact same issue as you, tried everything as you did in your earlier post but the installer just doesn't seem to work as it automatically shuts off after 2 secs the 'on your marks' bar appeared.
However, I am unable to try your latest solution as I don't have a secondary machine to try. Hope the dropbox team has a solution for this, I do wonder whether this is Windows related? anyone else facing this exact problem?

Hey stanleycarter, thanks for posting here!
I was wondering if you could also try the offline installer found here, in order to install the Dropbox desktop app that way. Can you give it a go, and let me know if you still face the same issue?
Have you also tried to perform an advanced reinstall too?
Thanks a bunch!

I can tell you that when I did it, I tried the offline installer. I even extracted the offline installer and tried the exes inside directly. Something is horrifically wrong with your installer for Windows 11 Pro.

Hi Megan , follow the exact steps from the link you shared earlier, and whalla, problem is solved (last month), Dropbox is now successfully reinstalled and working flawlessly again on my laptop.
Much appreciated, and sorry for the super late update, I forgot about this forum post, silly me.
