Nothing happens when I try to play .mp3 files on my Android Dropbox app.
Android Dropbox not playing mp3 anymore they were working fine previously.
There is no error message. I press Play button and nothing happens. This is happening for mp3 files - they were working fine yesterday.
I've rebooted my phone, and cleared cache in Dropbox app. Still getting the same issue.
Hi MoSn1,
Thats for your response!
No worries at all, as you said, you're on version on 448.2.8 and this fix deployed with 450.2.2.
Instead of downloading it again, try updating the app directly from the app store.
Let me know how you get on!

Thanks for posting on our Community today, MoSn1!
To make sure I got this right, this is an issue with all .mp3 files you’ve saved on your Dropbox mobile app. Correct?
If you’re not on a free Basic plan with more than 3 devices currently linked to your Dropbox account, can you also reinstall the Dropbox app and let me know if that resolves the issue?
Keep me in the loop for any updates.

Hi Nancy
Many thanks for your quick reply.
I've now deleted and re-installed Dropbox app, and it has resolved the issue.
Thank you for solving.

Hi there MoSn1 and welcome to the Dropbox Community 👋
Thanks so much for circling back with that update. I’m really glad to hear everything’s working properly again with your MP3 playback on Android 🙌. It’s easy to overlook, but uninstalling and reinstalling the app can often be the secret sauce when things get stuck (especially on mobile where cache and playback issues can sneak in 😅).
By the way, I’m Theresa 👩💻, one of the community managers here at Dropbox HQ. Since you’re using Dropbox on Android, I’d love to know... how does Dropbox fit into your everyday routine? Whether it’s for organising playlists, backing up photos, or keeping work files handy on the go, it’s always inspiring to hear how people are using Dropbox.
Hope to hear more soon!T 😺 (Dropbox Community Manager)

Hi, after a few days of working fine - the issue happened again: mp3 files stopped playing.
I uninstalled the app, reinstalled it, and now it's working again.
I've been using the app mp3 for years. Not sure what is causing them to fail?

Hi, I think the issue may be rated to "Make Available Offline"
After resolving the issue yesterday by uninstalling the app and then reinstalling it. I checked my favourite regular mp3's as "Make Available Offline" - same as I have always done.
However, I had the issue again today.
Today, I managed to get the mp3 working after I unchecked the "Make Available Offline" option.

Hi, thanks for replying
Any idea why "Make Available Offline" can cause the mp3 to stop working?

Hey MoSn1 - this definitely sounds weird. Can you let us know your device's OS version and the version of the Dropbox mobile app installed there?
