I've had the same problem ever since moving to a Mac Studio with Monterey.  I've trashed Preferences and all the library files, I've done a complete re-install...no joy. 

The Recents/file history work just fine for local files, and even files on external drives. But not DropBox files...even if they're Offline-Available.
