As Walter mentioned here, since we are actively working on full support for macOS 12.3, you may have trouble accessing online-only files in third party apps.

I received an e-mail from dropbox today pointing me to a software-update "Dropbox for macOS on File Provider."

Not sure if this is appointed per account, or a general solution, but this certainly works like a charm.
