New message notifications will not go away
I have several “unread” messages from Dropbox which when opened or marked as read the “2” displayed above the icon will not go away. The marked as read button does nothing and there appears to be no way to delete the messages ? Using app on new iPad Pro.
- I ended up removing App from iPhone and reloaded it. Bit of a faff but worked

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app a second time and this time the notification went away 🤔
- Soterios3 years agoExplorer | Level 4I had the same issue on my iPhone. Clearing the cache did not work, but logging off and back did work for me. But that in turn reset my camera upload settings and now it seems to be starting that process over. Sigh.

This issue has been bothering me for a while now and several updates of the App did not solve the problem.
Reinstalling or just logging off, seems not to be an option, as I am warned, that I'll loose all my private offline data.
Also I am afraid, I'll loose all the sync settings.
Please fix the software bug

Same issue here on the iPadMini 5. The advice from Dropbox to delete and reinstall is NOT helpful. This is clearly a bug that needs to get fixed.

Hi there 3DPhoto, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Could you clarify your device's exact OS version and the version of the Dropbox app installed there as well?
Did you try clearing the app's cache at all since you first noticed this by the way?
- Philip R.103 years agoNew member | Level 2I am also having this same issue. Noting I do will make it go away. You need to address this bug asap. I don’t want work arounds. I want a solution. I pay for this app so give me my money’s worth.

Having the same problem on my iPhone(iOS 16.3.1, app version 320.3) and my iPad(16.3.1/ 320.3). On the iPad, the stuck notification count is only inside the app. Cleared cache, won’t go away(not deleting and re-adding since I am a free user). But on the iPhone, the notification is on the phone’s Home Screen- really, really annoying and a distraction from *real* notifications.
- Phcalc3 years agoHelpful | Level 6I signed out and resigned in. Problem disappeared. But developers have to solve this issue.

Thanks Phcalc , that did it for me on both devices. I agree that it should be fixed though.

Just discovered something VERY nasty- signing out and then back in again resets the need for a passcode. If you signed out and back in again as a fix for the notifications, you may want to check your app settings and see if a password is still required. Or just click the Dropbox icon and see if you get the passcode prompt.
