"No internet connection" error on my PC Dropbox - won't finish installing
Since the middle of August I've been having problems with my dropbox on my 3 devices not syncing. Now I've lost dropbox from my pc laptop. I've uninstalled, rebooted computer, reinstalled. It won't finish installing. Keeps saying I have no internet connection of my computer is offline. Neither is true.
I've only used half of my 2gb. I have dropbox basic, as that is all I need. I only use dropbox for knitcompanion. I need a working dropbox for knitcompanion. Help. I can't fix this.

Sorry to see that you're having this issue, sewkat.
Do you have any security programs, like an antivirus, firewall, VPN, etc., that could be blocking Dropbox?
If so, try to temporarily disable them, to see if that helps.
Let me know what you find.

Didn't work. Still the same problem.

Hi from me too, sewkat! If you go to your Security tab here, how many devices do you see currently linked to your Dropbox account?
Have you also tried downloading and installing the Dropbox app via our offline installer here?

I only have 2 devices listed. My laptop isn't one of them.
I just tried the other download link you sent. It downloaded fine, still won't finish install, as it still says I have no internet connection. Do I have to a hard wired connection? instead of wi-fi?

Thanks for trying that out! As the next step, I suggest performing an advanced reinstall.
Let me know if this doesn’t resolve the issue either.

Tried that, did not work.
What is the magic internet connection to make dropbox work? It keeps telling me I have no internet connection when I do.

My phone and my kindle are connected to dropbox and they are now syncing.
I tried the offline installer. Same problem, says no internet connection.

Tried that too. Didn't work either.
I'm about ready to give up, getting dropbox back on my laptop. It won't install without an internet connection.

Let's try a few more things together. Can you flush the DNS cache on one of the affected devices as the next step, reboot your router, and disconnect/reconnect to the network you're using on that device?
After that, I’d like you to install the Dropbox desktop app one more time using the offline installer (a new stable version has been released in the meantime, so this may help).

what is the DNS cache? How do I flush it?
