Syncing is interrupted. But why?
Receive "Syncing Is Interrupted" error message. Took the following actions to resolve:
1. Disabled firewall
2. Disabled antivirus
3. Made the Windows user an admin
4. Disabled OneDrive
5. ...

That didn't work for me yesterday...
I have solved it syncing every big folder one by one, instead of all at the same time. A process which took me about 4 hours but in the end it worked.
With some of the folders, the Syncing being interrupted happened, and I solved it pausing the syncing, and then activating it again a few times (3 or 4). Not a very good solution, but effective in the end.

Can you also hover over your Dropbox icon and let us know the exact sync status and app version shown there?

Dropbox has not actually offered a solution to this problem! I'm not sure why they linked to my post as a "solution" as it didn't actually solve anything.

This should not be marked as a solution. Please revise.
Dropbox needs to pay attention to this thread.

I was able to solve this issue by leaving my Mac plugged in and powered on overnight. I turned off auto-sleep and it seems it was able to correct itself.

I was under the impression that you 'are' Support.
Anyway, after you mentioned it, I asked Support and got my fix in just a few minutes.
For my case, where some files are shown as 'used' in Sync Issues, whereas, nothing in my computer is using it, the Support suggested to Sign Out, and then go back in. After going back in, it does 'indexing' for a long time (because I have a lot of files). I left it running. When I woke up, it was done, and where previously it says 'Sync Interrupted', it now says 'Files are up to date'. All good then.
To sign out, in Mac, open the Dropbox app, go to Preferences > Account > Sign Out. The dropbox closes by itself after that. I reopened it. I forgot what I did, maybe something like just follow what it says, nothing special, then it says, 'indexing'. Then all good when I woke up.

Tried all of this and it doesn't work.
I've tried all suggestions in this thread. I've re-installed dropbox client, updated to latest macOS 14.4.1. Restarted computer, signed out signed in etc.
Done folder by folder etc not to overwhelm the client but still not working after so many attempts.
There must be a better solution for this from dropbox. What I noticed from all my attempts it's that it's always 120 synching issues all saying the same thing, what has been mentioned in this thread before. (Unable to sync while file is in use. Close the file to resume syncing.)
Many of which files are old and no one in my team is using them.
Please let me know if there is any solution to this problem? - syncingisinterrupted2 years agoHelpful | Level 5
Leave the machine awake and running for a couple hours and see if the indexing/syncing count drops when you hover over dropbox on the toolbar. Worked for me

I did try that yesterday but I'll try again this evening with less folders being synced. Thanks for swift reply.
