HI PDub81, thanks for the details, this would be useful for our team to investigate further.

This problem persists sporadically, but I have discovered that it only happens when I open the file from the "Home" tab in the Android app, not if I open it from the "Files" tab. I hope this information might be helpful for the Dropbox team to make a better diagnosis of the exact nature of the problem with the Android app.

Thanks for the confirmation, PDub81.
I just sent you an email, to investigate and see what we can find out about this internally.
Just get back to me when you can.
Thanks!

The issue is with editing plain text files in the Android app. Viewing without editing causes no problems with text files or any other file types.

Hey PDub81, I hope it's okay for me to jump in here as well.
Are you only having this issue with text files or with other types of files as well?
Do other app functions work as normal or does the app crash while performing other actions too?

Both have been done.

Thanks for the additional information and please let us know if you notice this happen again in the future PDub81
In the meantime, you might want to clear the app's cache or even re-install the app.

Yes, it happens with any plain text file. It is an intermittent problem that I can't replicate on demand, but I'll try it with an empty text file next time it happens and report back. System info attached.

Are you getting this issue on any plain text file you're trying to edit?
Does this occur with a brand new empty text file?
What is the exact version of Android you're running on your device (if it's not just Android 15), along with any other phone-specific OS?

I'm sad to report that the problem is back and is not clearing up after repeated attempts or switching files. I can't reinstall the app every time I need to edit a plain text file from my phone. I received an error message that says, "Dropbox keeps stopping." What's the next step?
