The redesigned menu bar window always opens in the first Space on Mac OS
Application Affected
Dropbox for Mac desktop app
Device
MacBook Pro 15" M1
Operating System
macOS Sequoia 15.7.2
Dropbox App Version
241.4.4795
Question or Issue
Clicking the menu bar icon to open the Dropbox popup window (recently synced files, etc.) always switches me back to the first space before opening. Toggling off "Use redesigned Dropbox menu bar" restores functionality of the popup opening in my current space.
For additional context:
- I do not have "Automatically rearrange Spaces based on most recent usage" enabled
- I do not have "When switching to an application, switch to a Space with open windows for the application" enabled

I've experienced this issue with other menubar apps - not just dropbox. I'm here after noticing it with the redesign, however it is inconsistent in its behaviour compared to other apps.
The typical behaviour (when I've encountered this problem) seems to be whatever space you're in when first launching the menubar app, is the space it's "stuck" in, and so launching it while in a different space/app, it'll switch to that space to open the menubar app. So you could be on the 1st desktop space, click the menubar item and it'll take you to the fullscreen app in order for it to open, or vice versa.
In playing around now with dropbox, I've noticed I can "whitelist" a fullscreen app to prevent the behaviour by:
1. Exiting fullscreen mode
2. While the app is still an active window on the 1st desktop space, toggle the dropbox menu bar icon.
3. Take the app fullscreen mode again and the behaviour is no longer present - I can open the menubar app from the fullscreen app as expected. - Jay18 days ago

Hi DiSharko, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Could you try reinstalling the Dropbox desktop application, without uninstalling it first, by using this link?
Keep me updated with any progress!
