Question or Issue
I recently noticed that when I open the 1Password app on my Google Pixel phone I get an error message saying the following:
Sync error
There may be a temporary problem with your network or the Dropbox server. Please check your connection and try again after some time.
The version of 1Password I'm using is old and is no longer supported by them. The new version requires a subscription service. Also, the Dropbox account I have is the basic account, and is not the subscription service. Could the fact that I'm using an older version of 1Password and my Dropbox account is the basic one, and not the subscription service be part of the problem. I'm thinking of dropping 1Passwpord and using a difference password database. Has anyone else come across this issue recently?

Thats almost certainly the issue.
Dropbox regularly updates its API which is the connection link between it and Dropbox. Older versions are now no longer supported for safety. Best thing to do is check with 1Password for help.
The fact you are on a free version of Dropbox wont affect this, however.

Thanks Rich.
I've done some research and will try to migrate to Bitwarden.
From what I read, I can export my 1password info from the 1Password v7 Windows app, then import it into a Bitwarden vault.
Then I should be able to connect my Bitwarden app on my phone tablet, etc to the Bitwarden vault.
Supposedly anyway. I'll give it a try.
I don't really want to pay a subscription to 1password even though that will be the easiest solution.

Hi, I too experienced the same issue with the 1Password on Android. As a loyal 1Password user for 10 years, I am reluctant to subscribe although most company has adopted subscription model.
I'd a go with Bitwarden and found the import option does not support format from 1Password version 7, and there isn't an export option on Windows App. Bitwarden confirm it only works with v8 format https://bitwarden.com/help/import-from-1password/ . Maybe opt for 14 days trial on 1Password 8 to export the compatible format.
