3 years agoHey Zone Studio - sorry to hear about this.
Could you let us know some additional information so that we can assist further?
For example, what is the OS version of the computers showing this behavior and the version of the Dropbox desktop app installed there?
Is this happening with online only files or files that are available offline on your computer?

I have this problem as well. If I unsync the video files and sync them back in - After Effects can't open them anymore - I get "After Effects error: Could not open source file. Pleace check that file exists with correct permissions. ( 86 :: 1 )". The only way they work is if I rename each file and relink everything - but if I name them back to their original names - I can't import them again. Tried cleared cache, restarting computer - doesn't work.
OS Version: 13.2
Dropbox version: v188.4.6302
Happens with the files available offline.

Sorry to hear about this, pavelas.
Is your Dropbox folder currently located in your User folder or in ~/Library/CloudStorage?

User folder.

HI pavelas, could you confirm that you have marked those files and folders as available offline when right clicking them, prior to opening the files?

Jay They are all available offline and I can open them in QuickTime and preview, I just can't import them back into After Effects anymore. What works is if I rename the file - it allows me to import the file. But that's not really a solution when collaborating on big projects with lots of files in it.
