Macros have been blocked for my Excel files.

Hi

We got problem activating Macros in Excel when opening files from dropbox.
Excel has a messages in the top saying that Macros has being blocked.
And there is no option to activate Macros, as there used to be.

Any ideas

It work if i copy the file to local computer, so it is something about the tag that is put on when the file looks like it comes from the internet.
It also works on One drive.
If i move my files to new location, then the macros can be enabled but fails, as they can not find the path to the files.
So they must be on "The online version", in Dropbox

This is an Excel issue, unrelated to Dropbox. You likely need to go into the Trust Center Settings within Excel and add the path as a Trusted Location.

    Thanks

I have read that thread and  solution there did not work.

How ever if I choose to keep file Localy, (The option in Dropbox), I can enable macros, but then the macro failed as it can not find the files, as it refer to the path in the macros.

And do not think that is the best solution either.

Hi BentHolm, let's jump right into this!

Do you use Excel online to preview your files? If so, then it might be worth pointing out that Excel online doesn't support Macros.

If you're using the desktop app when this happens, feel free to have a closer look at this relevant thread too.

Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!
