Missing files after syncing

Hi all

i have a dropbox basic account and I use it to back up files from an app called Songbook. I use Songbook to store files of songs with lyrics and guitar chords which I then sync to Dropbox as a back up of these files.

The last time I synced Songbook with Dropbox I noticed that there were nearly 200 files missing in my Songbook app the next time I used it.

I am reluctant to try and sync again in case the same thing happens.

Any suggestions or advice on how to avoid this most welcome.

Thanks

Chris

    Hi

    thanks for reply.
How do I move the individual files back into the main folders. Can I move multiple files all at once?

not sure if they are random files or if it’s connected to the back up but they appeared in Songbook yesterday in a file called without category, all my files in songbook are in four folders and categorised but when I got my files back yesterday there were about 700 that weren’t categorised so I have had to go through them and delete duplicates or re-categorise.

    best regards

    Chris

Yes, if you're viewing files on the site or on your machine, you can move them in bulk.

As to how the moving of the files would affect Songbook, I can't be certain.

Ok thanks for reply but there doesn’t seem to be an option to move them in bulk as far as I can see

Are you moving the files via the site or your computer?

    Hi

Moved the files back to the folder they should have been in by using my Dropbox account on my laptop.

All seems ok but I am  a bit reluctant to sync the files again from my ipad as its taken me ages to sort this out.

Would I be better off deleting all the files on my dropbox account and doing a clean sync from my ipad bearing in mind what happened last time I did  sync.

Is there any way of finding out how many files are in each of my folders on dropbox?

    Many thanks

Currently, there isn't a way to see the number of files on your account or in each folder.

It depends on how you want to sync the files, since I don't know how Songbook works overall, and how is syncs from the iPad.
