Can I cancel my subscription and get a new one without losing all my stuff?

Hi! I'm trying to change my billing info from an american card to a swedish card. It look like i need to cancel my subscription in order to change currency. My question is if I can cancel my subscription and resubscribe with a swedish card without losing all my stuff on dropbox or if everything will disappear? (I have 3TB worth of data stored on dropbox)

  • Hi

    It'll be fine 🙂

What will happen is it may stop syncing for a bit (i.e. give error you are over quota) as you need that bit to happen before you can change card country. However, all files/data will stay!

Hi, I cancelled my subscription which downgraded the account and is flagging that I'm over quota - all as suggested. However, I now cannot update my card or billing country. Can you please advise?

    Thanks,

    KW

    Hey KdubW!

Are you receiving any error messages when trying to re-upgrade your Dropbox account? If yes, feel free to upload a screenshot of what you see (just make sure your billing info is hidden).

    Hi Nancy,

I'm not getting errors but no option to update billing info.

And when I go to pay, currency remains in USD but I'm in UAE hence why I'd like to change my billing country.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi KdubW, thanks for clarifying!

Just to make sure I understand everything correctly: when you access our plan page, and try to upgrade from there, does it ask you to upgrade in USD?

Or do you use a different way to upgrade? Are you currently in UAE?

Yes it asks me to upgrade in USD and yes I'm in the UAE.

    Hi again, KdubW!

Currently, we don’t support the local currency of UAE, so the pricing for your plan would automatically display in USD.

You should still be able to use the payment method of your choice, though.

Nancy, I need to cancel because I thought I was getting a free trial then I was charged over $160.

I would like a refund for this. It is very hard to cancel!!

I have spent two days trying to cancel and every time my attempts are declined. I am a senior and can't afford this. Please contact at [removed].

I am beginning to think this is a major scam.

    Jay
