Dropbox removed "Vault" and is now dropping "Passwords", maybe they can lower our monthly payment?
Would love for Dropbox to lower their monthly costs since they are providing the same service for years and have mainly removed platforms that I personally use.

Ah, sorry, I misspoke. Vault, not Paper.

Dropbox Passwords going away is such a huge disappointment. It was the perfect solution for me. I just want to manage my passwords via the cloud service that is already central to my digital life, not shell out more cash for yet another niche subscription service like 1Password, nor deal with whatever weird KeePass fork happens to be the least janky this year.
In my 16 years of being a happy Dropbox subscriber, the company's failure to maintain Passwords is definitely my biggest letdown.

I've been a loyal Dropbox customer for many years. I pay for the convenience, but cancelling Passwords is not convenient at all. I would also expect ~6 months for something this major. I'm definitely going to be looking for Dropbox alternatives now.

Agreed with the above sentiment. I am not interested in another 'niche' subscription. Unfortunately, this will push me towards the 'duopoly'. Such a disappointment. It looks the most cost effective option will be take up the 1password option (to enable crossplatfrom use), and move my data to Onedrive (which i already pay for) and cancel Dropbox Family.

Same thing: VERY DISAPPOINTED with the removal of the password app. I already pay a family Microsoft 365 with Onedrive storage that I wasn't really using, but now with this big let down from Dropbox I will finally cancel my EXPENSIVE and many years long subscription to save some money for a new (and unexpected) password service monthly bill.
Shame on you Dropbox: reducing services while keeping the subscription cost the same.

100% agree. I only ever used Vault and Passwords, and now there is nothing differentiating Dropbox and the other cheaper alternatives. This is a massive disappointment. Guess I'll have to start migrating all my files to another service.....

I started my Dropbox subscription only to use Dropbox Password. But I'm really considering canceling my subscription now since I have to pay for another password manager provider, which is the main service I need.
$120/yr is not worth it for a solution that feels incomplete.

Hi Gabriel P.,
Thank you for posting on the Community Forum. I completely understand your frustration after learning that Passwords will be discontinued.
We will be posting more information regarding Passwords deprecation soon and I appreciate all of the feedback received. I'll personally pass it on internally through the right channels.

Not only are they removing Password, but the timescale is terribly short. During the holiday season you get effectively a month before the functionality of Passwords is downgraded. For me that is effectively 1 week! That is not the way you should treat customers. I will use that week to consider other solutions, not only as alternative for passwords, but as an alternative for Dropbox as a whole. You know, customers can only vote with their feet.
