Is there a cheaper plan than Dropbox Plus?
Many people do not need 2TB of data. So $9.99 a month is waste of money. But $0.99 a month for 50-100GB would be great with a 4 device limit. And perhaps another tier of 500GB for $2.99/month with a 5 device limit.
Think about it.
Seriously. Think about it.

Hi DeNice1, thanks for messaging the Community.
There are two other plans that are available in certain countries between Dropbox Basic and Plus.
You can read up more about them in this thread.
If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.

Right, but what about the US? Besides I think the tiers I'm referring to would be a better price/storage point/device limit.
Pas this on to management. You'd figure they would have thought of this already. They would probably get a lot more customers.
Management needs to rethink things.

Sorry, but this sounds just like a totally generic reply (which is also copy-paste as I saw it elsewhere) which won't change anything at the end. Fact is, that Dropbox is too expensive and barely any private user needs 2TB, when other service providers, including Apple, offer much cheaper options like 50-200GB, which are FAR more reasonably balanced.
Think about this: Till today you offer NO OPTION between the free plan (which, by the way, has laughably low storage with 2GB, while others like MEGA offer 20GB) and the first paid plan (which jumps to a crazy 2TB). So you can pick between 2GB and 2TB, nothing in between. Absolutely silly. I know this is intentional marketing, but you are missing a LOT of potential subscribers. Offering an additional 50-100GB option for 1-2$ wouldn't hurt your 2TB+ sales, but bring you new customers! But hey... if you don't want... - Rich4 months ago

And nearly all the other major cloud storage providers subsidize their storage offerings through other products. Google has their ad business, Apple their hardware business, and Microsoft their software business. All of these are used to offset the costs of providing cloud storage, and they do this to get you into their ecosystem where you'll spend more money on their other offerings. Dropbox only has their storage business.

Dropbox has tried this several times in the past and it has hurt sales. Every once in a while they come up with a new lower-cost plan and try it again, but it rarely lasts. And as Jay mentioned above, there are two such plans available right now depending on your location.

It does and it has.
As Dropbox has repeatedly said they are not a storage solution (like iCloud or OneDrive). They are a complete solution online with way more functionality.

Well then, I barely see this "complete solution" or "way more functionality" at all.
And if it "hurts" their model that hard, to have fall back to such a customer-unfriendly price tiering, well, just one more reason to stick with my alternatives. I had hoped for some change, but if there is no will, fair enough.
And indded, there are some special functions for business owners and stuff. Cool. >80% of people couldn't care less. You can defend it of course, but this doesn't change the fact that many people are unhappy and will certainly NOT upgrade to the expensive and overkill 2TB solution. The gap between 2GB and 2TB is way too big, no other cloud hoster comes even close.

Believe me - I'd love a smaller plan, but, I also use some of the other things.
However, Dropbox as a company need to remain profitable to stay in business. If they dont they wont - and cutting income has been shown that it wont increase profits or revenue.
