How do I sign in to my Dropbox account if I've made too many login attempts?
I have a problem logging in after I did phone reset.
At first I thought that maybe I am entering wrong password so I did password reset as well but it doesn't help.
I waited for hours but nothing is changing.
I tried to uninstall and install app again but problem still persists.
The three steps sollution that has worked out:
- Login to your dropbox account trough the website.
- Go to your profile and activate Two Factor authentication.
- Try to log again in the device/app you want, After provide the password it should ask for the security code just generated, provide it and you will be good to go.
That's the only sollution so far and was provided by the community, not even the Dropbox support although is a long time subject.
PS: Thank you @Andrew C.

Message calling the attention addresed to Dropbox Customer service Team
In this sense dropbox support should be more proactive and add a message at the end of the reset password notification e-mail and also to the FAQ.
That would reduce the ammount of tickets open on your side, customers will be self served and the forum won't be populated with long tail and spread messages regarding an issue that could be easily solved.

Hi guys, shortly after my last post I found a fix for my phone. I navigated into the website login > account > security > two-step verification. Added my phone number as my 2nd step of verification (they send a code for new logins) and low and behold I got into the app first try with no problems!
Hope this helps one of you guys get in!

Andrew thanks for that, can confirm login works when you turn on 2FA. As I suspected some security mechanism is broken with normal login.
Anyway best to have 2FA switched on adds a lot of security with relatively little inconvenience.

Based upon the sheer volume of posts there does seem to be some sort of issue yesterday and today (note not with the historical posts).
Can I therefore please ask that to try and keep things in one place you all look at and follow Too many login attempts.Try again later ?
Thanks

Same issue here, can't login to android app on my new Samsung Galaxy S6 edge ('too many failed logins'). This issue applies only to the dropbox app on this particular device. No problem logging in to the app on my old phone, pc, or web browser.
