2 years agoHi Lsballew, thanks for bringing this to our attention
Could you clarify what the exact message is when entering your email address?
Are you adding it on this page when logged into your account already, in order to change it?
This will help me to assist further!

Click on LB (personal) icon
Click on Manage Account
Click on Account Settings
Click on Personal Email - Edit
Type in new email, confirm email (using new email), put in existing dropbox password
click on update email
First instance of new email is surrounded by a redline box and has a small x in a circle below it. (update email button is still enabled but clicking on it again results in the same response)

...and, no, I am not on this page when I am trying to make the change, I am directly in my dropbox account, not on the forum

Hey Lsballew, is it possible that the email you're trying to use, is already used by another Dropbox account?
Try logging in with that address and request a password reset; if a password reset email comes to that address, it means it's already linked to another Dropbox account.
