Turn off Dropbox Transfer notifications and emails
Hello, I am sick of the torrent of emails and red badges reminding me that I just created a transfer, someone downloaded the transfer I sent them to download, or the transfer is expiring etc. I want to turn off all of these emails with a toggle in the app. The numerous other posts and requests about this issue (dating back to the late 2010's) have gone unresolved, so I'm adding my voice here. Please prioritize fixing this problem! Or hire me to come and add the code in your backend real quick! Pleeeeease 🙏

Hi aotu! Thanks for posting here.
Upon creating a new Dropbox transfer, there is also a toggle that allows you to enable/disable notifications when someone is downloading your files.
Can you give that a go and let me know if it helps at all?
Keep me in the loop.

Hey aotu, sorry for judging you. I was wondering if you had the chance to go through my previous post.

Hi Nancy,
I'm also tired of emails regarding my transfers. I tried creating a new transfer and didn't see an option to manage the transfer notifcations.

Hey dal721, thanks for the nudge here.
You can turn download notifications for your transfers on or off, by following the steps here.
Other than that, you should be able to unsubscribe from any other email notification from the option at the bottom of the email itself.
I hope this helps!

I am guessing the OP wants a global way to turn these emails off, rather than having to do it for every single transfer. That's what I want! (There also isn't an obvious way to do it when creating the transfer by left-clicking a file on a mac - but the priority is a setting that can turn it off by default.)

Hi Jay,
I have email notifications turned off and I just got some about a transfer that's going to expire in over a month. Saying that I could extend it. I want these to stop. They are so annoying. I've sent out 30+ transfers the other day and if I get notifications back it'll drive me nuts. I can view the transfer status on the manage page.

Yes. I don't ever want to receive an email about a transfer. I create it, copy the link and send that across. I don't need these emails!

I support this. I never want to receive an email when creating a transfer.
