Did you receive any specific errors when trying to access your old Dropbox account?
Provided that your account was closed due to inactivity, then all you'd have to do would be for you to create a new account, using either the same email address, or a different one.
It won't contain your old files there, since they are removed along with the account.

Thanks Megan, It's access to the old files I need!
As I wasn't receiving updates via email I didn't know they would delete my account - it has a decade of family photos along with tax records etc.
Is there any way to recover, that you're aware of?

I'm afraid that once the account has been deleted, our hands are tied moving forward since the content is basically gone along with the account.
