Account has been deleted?
Hello,
I had an account that I used on a - not so often - basis but I would go in and get what I need and get out.
The problem is today I needed to go in and Dropbox says my email is not related to any account. I asked to change my password, which it did and I see everything I had is lost!!!! How can I retrieve my information please?
Help!!!!!
Andre
Hello Walter! Thank you for jumping in!
I am the one that created the account years ago but I never got a notification that the account was about to be deleted but my wife did... I thought: maybe she created an account and just forgot about it. But now I can see she was receiving emails about my account... So I am really confused as you can imagine!
Well, I guess it is what it is and the Dropbox security works so if the data is totally deleted I guess I just have to start from scratch. Not the best scenario but I am not going to lose sleep over it!

How long ago did you last log in eandre68
If it was over 12 months I'm afraid its been removed for inactivity and its not possible to recover it. There are lots of emails sent to owners before that happens I'm afraid 😞

When was the last time you signed in to the account?
If the account was idle for more than a year it would have been deleted due to inactivity, and you're now logged in to a new, empty account. Unfortunately, once an account has been deleted it's not possible to recover it or the data it contained.

Thank you for your replies guys,
I always go in before i leave on vacation and last time was in March 2023 so not a full year.
I know my wife got emails but she is not using the dropbox. Is it possible there could have been a mixup in the account maybe? I never got any emails myself as I would have jumped on it!

Hey eandre68, sorry to jump in here, but what kind of mixup did you have in mind specifically?
Was the account associated with an email address of yours or your wife's?
