I can't access my email in order to get the 6-digit security code. What can I do?
I can login successfully, but needs me to check 6-digit code in email.
Before immigration, login dropbox never needs me to check 6-digit code in email.
After immigration, it needs me to check 6-digit code in email. (same computer)
My email account was disabled (long time no use and I forgot the password), I can't login to my email to check the 6-digit code.
I only want to login Dropbox without check email 6-digit code, so what can I do?
Thanks
It is very unlikley you will be able to access the account without access to either a device (mobile possibly?) with Dropbox installed already OR the email.

You will need to log a ticket with Dropbox while not logged in - even to here so try an incognito browser and use the option to get account support from www.dropbox.com/support.

Ultimately, you can't. If you've forgotten your password or it has expired, or you're being sent a one-time security code to an email address you can no longer access, it's not possible to sign in to the account without access to the email address registered with Dropbox. If it's a paid account you can contact Support to have any future charges cancelled, but they won't provide access to the account if you can't verify the account through the email address.

Hi Guys,
Can someone help to know how to update my email address since there is no option available?
I'm just requesting to validate the one I set and I don't anymore have access to that one. I even forgot the password and there is no way to recover the account as all the available options suggested are not affordable.
Thanks.

Just to be clear, you've forgotten the password to your Dropbox account and no longer have access to the email registered with the account?
If so, then it's not possible to sign in to the account. You'll need access to the email address in order to receive the password reset information. Your best option will be to contact your email provider and see if they can reactivate your email address.

I am trying to access my Drop Box account, but the security code is being sent to an inactive email address. I have the login information and the password, but I cannot access the 6 digit code because I have moved on from my previous school district. I had changed grades and have not used my account in a few years. I am moving back to the previous grade level and all my curriculum content is in this Drop Box. I am shocked that the company does not have to contact them. They have been so helpful in the past, especially to educators. I am willing to upgrade, but cannot get a hold of anyone to even do that. I have been round and round on their site. I have been directed to login in order to access anything....I cannot do that. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, if you've forgotten your password or you're being prompted for a one-time security code sent to your email, without access to the email address, you likely won't be able to gain access to the Dropbox account. Your best option is to contact the administrators of your old email and see if they can recreate it, even temporarily, so you can receive the security code.
Failing that you can try to contact Support but they have said publicly that without access to the email, they won't provide access to the Dropbox account. Visit the Support page while you're NOT signed in to a Dropbox account, including these forums, and you'll see an option for sign in issues. It's best to use an Incognito or Private browsing session to make sure you're not signed in.

Thank you Rich! This is so sad. I have years of work in my Dropbox. They use to have such amazing customer care. The district switched to google after I left, so I am sure all is lost. Makes me sick. Also makes me wonder if Dropbox is worth the usage. I appreciate your support.

You are amazing Rich! The circle of endless help ended, I was actually able to send an email explaining my situation. Here's hoping someone answers and can help. Like I said, customer service used to be superb. Fingers crossed.

Hi Jay,
The issue is not so much the 6-digit security, but the fact that it is being sent to an email account that is no longer accessible to me as I no longer work for that particular organisation and have been removed from their email accounts.
When I was working them I paid for (and continue to be charged annually) an upgrade to the 1Tb option. Not long after this I parted ways from this company and my email account was deactivated. However Dropbox continue to automatically deduct an annual subscription amount from my bank account and I cannot cancel the subscription as I need to verify via the 6-digit number being sent to an account that I no longer have access to.
I have the Dropbox subscription account number and proof of debit from my bank account. What I need is for Dropbox to send the 6-digit to either an SMS or alternative email account. Why can this not be arranged?

Dropbox will not do that. Your email address is used to verify your account. Without access to the email, there's no way to access an account if your password has expired or you're being sent a one-time security code.

Hi everyone,
I am sort of in a very funny situation. I cannot access my dropbox account because it says that it needs to send a verification code to my email. The problem is that I cannot access my e-mail anymore because I no longer work at my old company.
The cherry on the top is that I am currently subscribed to premium dropbox, and it is automatically withdrawing money from my credit card. I cannot even cancel that because I would have to log into my account for that.
I have tried reaching my old company and reinstating my e-mail account for this is not an option.
So what are my remaining options?
I want to access my files.... without having to access the email. Can the dropbox staff help with changing my e-mail, since they can clearly verify my identify from my credit card?
At the very least, I want to cancel my premium because I'm not paying for it if I cannot even access my account.
Please help!
Thanks
