Syncing issues PoPOS 22.04

Syncing issues PoPOS 22.04

Hiya,

I've been having a set of issues regarding using dropbox on my popos machine namely, using the .deb install the application seems to hang on "connecting" in the system tray icon and doesn't seem to sync the files at all.

To counter this I will detail the things i have tried to fix said issue in the hopes it helps come to a solution;

When I tried opening dropbox through command line it stated it couldn't read the whole file hierarchy due to too many files,  as a result I have increased the fc max user watches to this value: fs.inotify.max_user_watches = 2000000. This hasn't helped fix the issue

I have also tried to ditch the .deb install and switch to the flatpak version and while this does seem to fix the sync issues, I have the new issue of not being able to relocate the dropbox folder and it being stuck only in my home directory. This is no good since my dropbox data is stored on a removable HDD.

With the flatpak version the system tray icon is unintractable and won't allow me to access preferences to adjust any of the settings, such as relocating the dropbox folder location.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance!

Chloe

popos is based on ubuntu 22.04, so for the most part should it not also be compatible?
