I have Windows 7 x64 SP1 on a Sandy Bridge Core i5. Dropbox is visible only on my User Account, not on Admin. I use the "Classic" desktop so I can customise to my preferences rather than Microsoft's. The taskbar is a very pale blue/grey colour.

Some time ago, after an update, the tray icon became "invisible", a white box with faint grey outline. It is not unuseable, merely highly annoying.

I have discovered three preferences at C:\Program Files (x86)\Dropbox\Client\168.4.4802\images\03_Tray_Icon\win\dark, \legacy and \light, but there is no way I can see to adjust the preference to suit my desktop.

Do I need to completely uninstall and re-install Dropbox? Or can a preference be placed in the User Preferences in the System Tray pop-up?

Hi @gordon451, thanks for messaging the Community.

It wouldn't possible to configure the Dropbox desktop icon in the system tray.

In addition to this, we no longer support using the Dropbox desktop application on Windows 7 devices, as security updates are no longer provided for that version of Windows.

If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.

Ummm.  Sad to hear that.  I suppose I'll soon not get any more updates then, they seem to be fairly regular at about once a fortnight or three weeks.

Need more support?
