Hi
Totally strange behaviour here.
So yesterday ive uploaded a 5gb zip to my dropbox , Halfway the lan connection steps out.
Since then everytime i start the dropbox app and it begins to sync , all my lan ports become unavailable until i reboot and prevent dropbox from autostart. Wlan still works.
Ive tried a different router and re-installed the dropbox app. Network bandwith is activated but it seems the sync kills the whole network traffic.
So basically 20 seconds after starting the dropbox app the lan connections steps out.
Hi @scare, happy Monday from me, to you!
Could you please let me know the exact OS of your devices and the status and version of our desktop app installed there as shown in your system tray as well?
Also, have you consulted with this resource on configuring your firewall?
Keep me posted!

Hi @Megan
Its Windows 10 22h2 and latest Dropbox Version. I do not have any extra firewall software, only the windows one.
In the meantime ive deleted dropbox, re-installed and did a new index. While indexing everything works until like 99%. Then lan disconnects.
Ive also tried to limit the bandwith in the router, but no difference.
Hi @scare, I hope it’s alright to jump in.
Can you please follow the steps outlined here, to limit the bandwidth that’s being used by the Dropbox app?
Is it possible that you have a large folder on your Dropbox app that’s still syncing and hogging the connection?
If yes, and if it’s possible, I’d like you to remove this folder from your Dropbox app via selective sync, and let me know if you see any difference to your connection.

Hey @Megan
i did alot of testing since the last post , including thottling the whole network traffic down for the one pc.
its an combination of the Intel I219-V network driver and dropbox. Everything works fine until is start dropbox. But when using an usb network card i can use dropbox. Of course ive tried to re-install the network drivers and so on. I dont know why dropbox causes the intel I219-V to overload , but for now i can use the usb connection as a workaround.
HI @scare, we appreciate the workaround you've discovered.
If you wish, you can submit a support ticket for the team to investigate this matter in more detail on their end.
