Keeping files that were shared by someone else

Hey Kathrynmcg1, thanks for joining the Dropbox Community!
Since this person is basically the owner of the folder, they do have the right to delete it.
However, if you want to make sure you don't lose the files, you could just make a copy of this folder somewhere else in your account.
