Storage problems on new Mac OS after setting files to be online only

Hi! At the company I work for we use dropbox as main storage for files etc. I just received a new Macbook for work and I got the dropbox app and added a shortcut for finder for easy access. I noticed immediately that my storage was reaching limit on my MacBook, dropbox had enabled all files to be available offline (which I don't remember when setting it up). I have now changed the preference to available online only, however the files are still filling up my storage to the point that I can't even use the device. It is as if dropbox has downloaded all the files to my laptop, how to I fix this? please help

Hey @alexanderaxelsson, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Did you give enough time to the desktop app to sync your changes after setting your files to be online only? Is it 'up to date' or still syncing in your menu bar at the moment?

If you did, then the space might be taken up by your cache folder.

In any case, please keep me posted!
