How can I delete a shared folder?
I have some Dbox directories/files that were shared from another user.
I don't need them anymore, but I'm afraid if I delete the folder, it will delete files from everywhere.
There doesn't seem to be a way to find ownership of files except by trying to move or remove a file.
Do these shared files occupy space on my local disk?

Hi BeachBum1085, thanks for messaging the Community.
Shared folders do take up quota on your account. You can temporarily or permanently remove your access to the shared folder by following these steps.
Either of these would free up the quota on your account.
If you need any further assistance, please let me know!

I need to explain terminology.
Files that occupy disk space on my PC I call local.
Dropbox has shared files.
Do those shared files actually occupy disk space on my PC or are they only in the cloud?
- pooderbill2 years agoExplorer | Level 3Can anyone answer this question? Is there some way to identify a shared (network based) file? In FileExplorer, I see a tiny Dropbox logo at the bottom right corner of the file's icon. Does that mean the file is not local?

Hi peeps,
There is no any correlation between is a file shared or not and is the same file occupy local space or not. These are completely independent things! Clear your terminology out and stop looking for something non existent (correlation in orthogonal things).
Good luck and happy new year. 😉
