Delete, edit, and organize
Solve issues with deleting, editing, and organizing files and folders in your Dropbox account with support from the Dropbox Community.
I have uninstalled the DropBox, but it is still affecting the location of files on my desktop. For example, the path to files is: C:\Users\user\Dropbox\PC\Desktop\[file name], instead of C:\Users\user\Desktop\[file name].
What can be done to get rid of 'Dropbox\PC\' from the path?
P.S. My OS is Windows 10 Pro x64 version 22H2 (OS build 19045.2965).
Thanks for your response @Jay
Is it possible to delete the PC folder from Dropbox?
Thank you,
Michael
Hey @mikewill, sorry to jump in, but have you tried deleting it from the backups page?

Are you having any issues doing it from the page that Walter linked for you?

On one hand, the Dropbox backup shows that it is empty (no file there). But on the other hand, when browsing with windows explorer. it shows that the PC folder exists. (See screenshot)
Hi @mikewill, if you try to move it out of there by dragging, and dropping it to the desired path, does that have any results for you?

I mean to move your Documents from within Dropbox to the Documents path in your device @mikewill.

@Megan please don't make similar suggestions.
I almost killed my PC while trying to move the PC folder from Dropbox to another drive. See the screenshot.
As you can see, almost all items disappeared from my desktop. Fortunately, I was able to reverse the situation. Also, my desktop is a mess now. Hopefully, it's the only problem.
Hi @mikewill, just wanted to check how things are going with this.
Do you still see your Backup folder online in your account? Have you tried deleting any folder you might not need from there?
Have you tried following these steps by any chance?
