Just tried reinstalling 3.03. The program installs but then when it goes to the Setup window I get an error message saying that I have no internet connection and to computer is offline (clearly it isn't since I'm posting from it now"). Click the "retry" button but to no avail. This is on a PC currently running windows 8.1.
Also the share dropbox link by right clicking disappeared about a week ago.
My mac and mobile devices are still fine.
In case there are any help for users in Mainland China.
I use Mac, and none of the solutions above helped me.
But finally when I chose "Manual" in the proxies settings, changed the proxies type to "SOCK 5"(the type of VPN I used) and entered the host numbers, it worked!
Just solved my problem in case anyone else is running into it. Pretty simple of course. The McAfee firewall was preventing me from completing the setup. Turned off the firewall for a couple of minutes and ran through setup.
I'm having the same issue, but disabling windows firewall didn't help.
For what it's worth - my issue looked the same and was solved by disabling the proxy in dropbox settings.
Hi, I have a question For Ben, How did you succeed to disabled your proxy settings if you can connect ? I can change it but it doen't keep the data when I update… Thanks a lot
I was having the same problem, e.g. failure to recognize the internet. I tried turning off the virus protection (Kaspersky) and it went through with the installation.
I had the same problem as Morgan and Ben. I first tried to disable Windows firewall and antivirus, that didn't work. Then I tried configuring "Proxies" to "No Proxy", and that solved the problem.
Try running this command at the command prompt
netsh winsock reset catalog
Same problem here, I am using windows XP and I already tried turning off my Firewall and turn proxy to "no proxy". But did not resolve the problem. Please help...
Same here, I tried turning off all firewall etc and I set to "no proxy". Also the command prompt
netsh winsock reset catalog. Still there is no connection! Any other ideas?
