Re: Can't PW Protect Vault on Android

My Vault doesn't have password protection on Android.

I have my vault PW protected on desktop. However, Android Vault has no PW option. I just hit the vault icon and my vault opens. Is there a way to PW protect Vault on Android?

Hey @HiThere555, I hope you're doing well!

Have you tried to tap “…” (ellipsis) in your vault, and then tap Lock Vault?

Let me know if this works for you!

Hi HiThere555,

Thanks for your question. Here’s how to password protect your Vault on Android:

  1. Update Dropbox App: Make sure your Dropbox app is up to date from the Google Play Store.
  2. Enable Passcode:
    • Open the Dropbox app.
    • Tap the menu (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner.
    • Select Settings.
    • Tap Set passcode and follow the prompts to set a passcode for your Vault.
  3. Biometric Protection: If your device supports it, enable biometric protection (fingerprint or face recognition) for added security.

This should help secure your Vault on Android.

I have you listed as the solution and liked your post. 😊

I am surprised I need to manually lock it because I will never remember to do this. If there is an auto-lock option, please get back to me.

I appreciate your help!!
