Hello,
I have the problem as described. The Dropbox web page does not open when clicking on the icon at the top of the desktop menu bar ( selection option ).

My browser: Firefox 115.2.1esr (64-bit)
Operating system: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

It should be noted that it worked at the beginning and then suddenly no longer.

I have changed the default browser to Google Chrome as a test. With this setting, Dropbox works. So there seems to be a problem with Firefox ESR.

Which icon?

It wouldnt usually open when you click on Dropbox (that opens a pop up menu), you need to then click on the browser icon for a web page to appear.

Yes, I mean the pop-up menu ( Dropbox start Website / German ). Nothing happens when I click on it.

Hi @bi3mw! Can you send a screenshot of the exact icon you’re clicking at, so that we may have a visual?

Besides that, are you having any issues when accessing the Dropbox website directly from your Firefox browser (without going through the desktop app first)?

If I type the address of Dropbox directly into the address bar of the browser I can access Dropbox.

Hi @bi3mw, what is your default browser on your machine? If you have the browser open in general, and then click the link in the Dropbox icon, does the Dropbox site load?

No, nothing happens even if the browser is already open.

I don't know if it's the same on Linux, but on Windows that icon doesn't directly open the Dropbox website. When you click the icon a file is saved to your local temp folder and then that file is opened in your browser, which then redirects to the Dropbox website.

Assuming the Linux client works the same way, could something be preventing Dropbox from writing the local file before trying to open it in the browser?

Now is this primarily a Dropbox problem or a Firefox problem ?
