Why can't I free up space after deleting files?
I deleted ALL files and I still do NOT have space?

Hi Looking4File, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
In general, deleting files would free up space on your machine once the deletions have synced to the site.
Could you confirm how much quota is being used up on this page?
This will help me to assist further!

I have the same issue. I've began getting a message that I'm at 180% of allotted storage about a month ago. I have deleted almost everything from my DropBox and continue to get the message that my account is full and will no longer be synched. I am then presented with options to increase storage space. Why doesn't DropBox recognize that I have deleted files?
My best option at this point is to use OneDrive or some other file sharing solution.

Sorry to hear about this issue, oski65.
Did you also check your Backups page and there’s nothing there?

Was not using Backup so that file was empty. Deleted EVERYTHING from Dropbox including Vault and it now shows zero usage. I'll start re-loading and see what happens.

Hello, so i have a dropbox try 5TB, i was overloaded (5.1TB), deleted files, now it's 4.8TB and i can see that when i clic on my profile avatar. However i still can't upload anything, even small files, still says full.. And when i go to the plan page in settings, there it still says 5.1TB. Seems like an update issue? Hopefully somebody here know how to fix this 🙂

Hey fulldb, thanks for reaching out to our Community.
It's possible since you're on a Dropbox Business trial, that your personal space usage in settings is different from the team space usage in the admin console.
Can you check both places and let me know what you see?

Any solution on this, thanks. kevin

Hey kevin891, sorry to see you're having space issues.
Have you used the steps in this article, to check the size of your files and calculate the size of your folders, to see which files are taking up your space?
Shared folders also take up space in the account of each member, so make sure to check that out as well.
- kevin8913 years agoNew member | Level 2thanks, I delete more files online, I do see the total size of account is reducing, now, my account can sync again, thanks.Meanwhile, I keep getting below error when I tried to comments in this page, I have to try several time, before I can post, please check.
